One could bank on this new job coming to beginning as already Nik had set up shop in Florence, Italy. It was here he was now a rogue agent working for the SISMI, the military and domestic organization that helped with operations on all fronts to preserve the integrity of Italy itself while working with allies around the world. Of course, it being a tough and pain-staking line of work, yet he was up to the task having already completed a mission in Afghanistan. Now, all he was waiting for was another mission from headquarters to come.
In the meantime, he simply just milled around the city doing what he just felt he wanted to do, not exactly prone to having a set schedule. Afterall, one didn't live on set rules alone. For Nik, it was more of what just he chose to do. Besides, it gave him busy work to do when he couldn't spend time with his fiance which he loved most dearly. And so, life goes on.

The job was rather a long one as Nik had been busy tending to it being an agent working for the SISMI Intellegence Agency, he was missing his fiance a lot and both of them spent a great deal of time apart. One would wonder if they should see each other again, he'd be lucky if he did considering the situation going on.
However, he understood for such secrecy needed in this case. For a lot was riding on this one moment in time where Nik had grown accustomed to things here in Florence, a perminant stay possibly or actually it very well was. He'd make the best of it doing his work that he could and keeping up with things at the tavern too. Once more, life goes on with another day and another dollar in his pocket. Honestly, it was good to have a daily business on top of all the other business had.

: The daily business would soon come rather quick for Nikolaus as he was thrown into a situation from the director that had to do with the situation stemming from the operation in Afghanistan awhile back. Somehow, that attack that was suppose to have been a reconnaisance mission ended up with a fire fight on top of that. According to the director's words when he called him on the phone, trouble now was stirring up all over the Middle Eastern countries from terriorist groups.
Noone was sure how or why this had to do with the nature of the integrity of Italy, yet the director wouldn't make a phone call without it being of the utmost importance. He ask that Nikolaus make a trip to the headquarters the next morning on as he had a job for him, he'd explain more when he'd come into work. Of course, Nikolaus understood bidding each other goodbye in Italian, then went on about their business.
No doubt it was gonna be a long day as he would need some sleep if he was gonna go at whatever was going on now. The director seemed concerned about it. Who knows, this was probably what the new job had in mind anyway for it's agents in the field. They had to be prepared for every contingency that came about, it's what made them sharp. :

: And thus, the next morning would come when Nikolaus would awake and promptly head out to the place of which he was to meet with the director to discuss the mission of which he was to be on. He had not a clue as to how or when he'd start this but when he got there, the director would offer him a seat after making him a cup of coffee. Thus, they'd sit and discuss the matter. It seems trouble had been brewing around the nation of Egypt, an uprising due to the covert ops mission in Afghanistan had resulted from it apparently.
Thus, together with Italian intellegence and that of the U.S. intellegence gathering, the director assigned Nikolaus to another covert ops mission this time in Egypt as it was a matter of importance that Italy find what was causing this uprising and perhaps, if any, whom might be filling in the gap. Clearly, there was a change in the supposed Presidency as according to sources, one president was ousted and another had been put in its place that was more radicalized.
Nikolaus and the director talked extensively on the matter and later, he would agree to this mission. Hopefully, things would go better than the last time, having a fire fight against the terrorists in Afghanistan was enough. Afterwards, he stood bidding the director goodbye for the time being and went out of the office to prepare for the mission getting specific instructions. However, he would head to the pub to go grab himself a drink or a bite to eat not knowing how long he was gonna be on this mission.
Hopefully, at one point he could see his fiance before then if she wasn't busy with things of her own on her end :
